The Future

Access Trail – After seven years of working towards a 3.5 km trail around areas of the farm and the coastal path for those with access needs. The dream of Victor and Dan Thomas has almost been realised. This has advanced with the support of the County Council.

Dairy – With the Jersey herd of milking cows now static at 4 cows. The routine work is reducing to allow for the other developments, like the QCF training, moorings, rainwater conservation etc.

Treloan moorings – We have a large area within the Percuil estuary where our own tidal moorings are situated. They are only a twenty minute walk from the farm. We currently have 10 laid and are able to take up to 60 boats. We have a Ballerina sailing boat afloat and available for trips.

Working Horse/Pony & Small Heritage Farm Courses - With the farm working with traditional methods of the 1930's using horses and machinery we are now working with LANTRA and Duchy College providing simple farm courses to create a qualification in preserving this way of farming. Also other training courses with the QFC qualification are available at increased cost.

Rainwater conservation – Part of the work for this has already been done and needs further grant work to implement it fully. Sustainable practices are becoming a way of life on ‘Arthurs Field' .

Horse Engine – With the horses ploughing and harvesting and the steam thresher threshing the corn, we are soon going to need our old horse engine with which to stone-grind the “ Natures Way ” wheat to make bread with no carbon footprint. The nearby watermill project at Melinsey have agreed to investigate the possibility of milling our wheat.

Yearling Barn – We have one barn on the farm which has now being converted into our Farm Office.
